Telling the story of a farewell between a bird and a tree, the film weaves together the thrill of growing up, the struggle of decision making, and the emotions of longing and attachment.
It was inspired by my personal experience of navigating the tension between personal growth and home.
LAYOUT
Animation & Material Exploration
For a specific scene, I scanned real leaves and integrated them with hand-drawn drawings to represent each season. After editing them, I animated the bird in TVPaint and composited the elements together. Using real leaves provided a richer texture and allowed me to incorporate materials from the real world into the film.
